Business of Fashion 500

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Business of Fashion’s annual gala dinner in order to celebrate the #BoF500 – a professional index of the people they think are shaping the global fashion industry. I was surprised but equally thrilled to be included on this year’s list!

The index is based on nominations received from current members of the BoF 500 as well as research from the BoF team.
From François-Henri Pinault to Anna Wintour, Stella McCartney to Andrew Bolton, the BoF 500 features designers, educators, executives, models, retailers, media figures, tech innovators, photographers, stylists and creative directors that drive the fashion world forward, so it is a real honour to be selected.
Our work at LCF, including the rise of the Centre for Sustainable Fashion and the launch of the Business School, was instrumental I am sure in gaining my place, although I was pleased to hear my book ‘Why Fashion Matters‘ also mentioned.
My inclusion on the list will hopefully further highlight the projects that I am passionate about, such as our Better Lives agenda with its focus on sustainability, as well as our social outreach projects like Made for Change.
After LCF’s Professor of Fashion Design for Sustainability, Dilys Williams was named as one of London’s most influential people by the Evening Standard, my inclusion on this list is really testament to the influence LCF is starting to have, not just on fashion education, but on the global fashion industry.
