I love visiting the Margaret Howell store on Wigmore Street. It is so much more than just a retail space, it holds small exhibitions of mid-century designer’s work and has a carefully curated range of ceramics, furniture and other beautiful household items.
The design of the space really puts the clothes into context and gives you a sense of what the brand is all about. I love the how the wooden/cream aesthetic is carried out throughout the shop, but is often punctuated by a shot of colour here and there, which grabs your attention – that blue tea pot! It’s both relaxing and interesting.
Even if I’m not looking for clothes, I can get lost in the excellent selection of books. If ever I need to get away from the office and just refresh my mind, I pop down and have a wander round. For me, it’s one of the best retail experiences in London.
Go and visit the store yourself!
